The Great Giveaway Day

This Giveaway is now Closed

Hi everyone, i'm sure most of you will have headed over here from Sew Mama Sew and their wonderful Giveaway day post (although I do have some great followers so a big hi to you too). I know you are going to be frantically jumping from post to post looking at all the amazing giveaways so I will keep this short and sweet

My giveaway is

A pretty pouch inspired by this lovely make from the talented VeryKerryBerry, it measures 8.5 x 9 so will hold quite a lot, I would use it for my sewing trinkets but you may have an entirely different purpose in mind!

To enter leave me a comment telling me what you want from a crafting/sewing/quilting blog, what makes you return time after time and become a follower? You don't need to be a follower to enter though, I only want people to become followers if they like what they see, I certainly don't want to force your hand!

My lovely followers will get a second chance. Just leave a separate comment telling me you are a follower. Of course if you are a new follower then this will include you too.

This is open to international entries, winner to be drawn randomly and notified by email.

I have a second giveaway going on here, so head on over and check it out

In order to try to entice you back when you have a little more free time then here is a mosaic of some recent makes

And here is a little taster of what to expect from 2012:
Tutorials
Free pattern downloads
Hopefully a fabric swap
More on my quest to design and produce my own fabrics
As well as lots of makes and titbits on my life and the big move we are hoping to make from England to Australia

Thanks for visiting and hope to see you back here in the future, good luck.  Now head over to Sew Mama Sew for all of those giveaways!

Ohhh pouch love! I like to be inspired with new and original ideas - and to have a laugh or giggle along the way. So... I guess I just like people to keep it real and showcase their successes and, alas, failures. ;)

Hi, I don't expect much from a crafting/sewing/quilting blog :) I'm just curious about other people's work. I like to read and to write comments. If I like somebody's works I became a follower.
And it's good to make friends this way.

Erin @ Once Upon a Donkey said...

I'm a follower (and desperately hoping that comment 1 wins, for a change). Thanks for the two awesome giveaways. :)

Your pouch is gorgeous! I love seeing the process of how someone gets from an idea to the final product. That doesn't mean I want all the secrets, but I do like to see a piece evolve.

Gorgeous bag! I enjoy reading about how crafters get it all done actually. I like reading about successes as well as mistakes made. Inspiring links, etc.

kathy said...

Frequent postings - at least once a week. Interesting screw-ups to keep it real, and photos.
I like your selection of fabrics on the pouch.

Nicole said...

I like craft blogs that have lots of variety. Variety in type of craft as well as skill level. Pictures are a plus too. Thanks so much for the chance to win. The pouch is so pretty!

Heather said...

I love tutorials. I'm new to following quilt blogs and have gotten a lot out of tutorials. Also, I've recently done a quilt along, which was a lot of fun. A fabric swap sounds great, too. Have not gotten in on one yet...

Laurel09 said...

Blogs that I return to have two things - 1. they post often, even if they dont' have finished products (I love to hear about progress and see photos of WIP), and 2. they have lots of photos. I just love to *see* what other people are doing with fabric!

I love tutorials .... to me seeing the pictures as the project is made really helps me understand the process

I do love blogs that have good tutorials and photos of sewn goods. I actually prefer blogs that post *less* frequency, because subscribing to a blog that has daily posts is just more than I can keep up with!

ELNM said...

I like a variety of techniques and skill levels. It's also fun to read about your creative journey and what inspires you. Thanks for the giveaway!

The nag is beautiful. I like sewing blogs that give me great ideas of things to make, or offer tips on fitting, or show off pretty fabrics. It's nice to know that sewing isn't a dying art, as it seems sometimes.

Rhonda said...

And that was supposed to say BAG, not nag. Oops!

I love to be inspired by other people's creations, so I do love lots of photos and tutorials.

But most importantly, I want to get to feel like I "know" the blogger - a friendly, fun, writer's "voice" (like yours!) is a big draw!

I like seeing other people's creativity and ideas. I usually "like" blogs that are somewhat similar to what I do but that give me a bit of a challenge to do more!

To be honest I want interaction from people whose blogs I comment on, otherwise I feel I might as well be talking to the wind, you need to put in what you want to get out. Content wise, sewing/creative/food related things interest me, the intricate workings of your two-year-old's mind, not so much (but that's probably because I don't have kids) Thanks for the chance to win!

For me, a great log has a little humor, loads of inspiration and resources, and doesn't take itself too seriously. Also, I like to support "the little guy/gal" whenever possible, so having loads of sponsors tends to turn me off.

I love well-written tutorials with loads of pics. It doesn't have to be originals, just a new spin on it with "tricky thingie" warnings etc. will get my vote. I also love the 'humaness' behind bloggers, so write what you want to write about, not what you hope people would want to hear.

In a blog I like to be inspired to do things that I can ACTUALLY DO! I like some variety in levels of difficulty and to feel free to "copy" an idea and make it for myself... very limited budget and I live remotely so have a hard time buying fabrics. I drool over all these fabrics and ideas!

Hi there! Visiting for the first time via the Sew Mama Sew giveaway. Your creation is just lovely. I am not signing on for all the givieaways-- just picking and choosing a special few that really resonate with me. I like to read quilting/creating/crafting/photography blogs that are real-- they include inspiring creations, as well as snippets of real life-- whether it be family, inspiration, the little things, reflection, honesty. I also enjoy tutorials, but that's not a pre-requisite. Every blog is individual in its own way. If I like the author's "voice", then I check it out and follow. I'm definitely going to check out some more of your posts. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!
