A Quick Make

Not much to report this week but I managed to get a little pressie made for one of our crafty campers, It was for a 50th and she enjoys knitting so I whipped up this needle wrap
I sewed a few charm squares together and when widened it with an oversized gingham
I quilted it with random straight lines set at all sorts of different angles and then I sewed straight channels for the different sizes of knitting needles

And thats a wrap (sorry for the cheesy pun)

The other news is that I have been involved in setting up a new paper piecing bee over on flickr 'Piece Bee With You' im super excited and have been sketching up loads of ideas and designs (I havent found the time to make any yet though, hopefully soon!) There may be one space left, Im not quite sure, if you are interested then leave a comment and if we need to fill in a gap I will contact you, its not a case of first come first serve, it will be who we think will most fit into the current group.

Linking up with Sew Modern Monday as always, check out the other lovely makes.

Blocks and a Bee

I must apologise for not being around recently. We got back from Australia safe and sound (and had a wonderful time but more about that later) and then the next day we went off camping with friends for the weekend (suitcases left on the floor with clothes overflowing from them, house filthy as I had not had time to clean and tidy before Australia), then we got back from camping and I had to start back at work the next day and Boo had his first day at pre-school 2 days later! so things were pretty hectic around here but hopefully things are settling down now.

Anyway on to the important stuff - Sewing

I've been a busy bee, working on my blocks

These are the last 2 for the 3x6 sampler quilt mini bee, I have made them all and posted 5 but need to post the last one tomorrow.

These 2 are for the first month of Sew Bee Joyful, they are for Linda, we were all asked to add a bit of our own fabric to the centres. I also added a few Kona solids. They were my first ever attempt at wonky, hope she likes them.
I also finally finished 2 blocks for Carolines All Heart Appeal, I'm especially pleased with the bottom block, I chain stitched the edge of the heart in 3 different shades of pink
Carolines appeal is a very worthy one, you should definitely check it out and send her a heart.

I also managed to finish off some birthday pressies

A piped and zipped russian doll cushion for Anna at our local crafty campers group
A hoop with some hand and machine embroidery for Fi at crafty Campers (it is a much more hot pink than it looks in this photo, sorry for the terrible quality, the light was awful when I took this)

I also finished and posted my items for the Love of Solids Swap
I hope my partner likes them, I made a zigzag tote with wipe clean plastic lining and a mini backpack for a little person in their life and I included some fabric and thread. I hope this is enough, it's my first swap that involved making things, I really hope my partner likes everything.

And for the last piece of most important news, do you fancy joining up for a foundation (paper) piecing bee? If so head over to this post by Kelly and leave her a comment telling her you want in, I'm so up for it, hopefully you are too and we can get one up and running. If you need any convincing at all then check out this wonderful eye candy from another flickr bee Ringo Pie
